New Year Parade

Chinese New Year Part III

-----------

After going to Wishing Tree on Sunday 10th February we went to see the New Year's Parade held in Tsim Sha Tsui. The parade started at 8pm, but we went to get good places around 5:30pm already. Nice parade, although a bit long one. I also expected more Chinese things, but it was ok like this too.

I took many pictures and also some videos. To watch the video click here to go to YouTube or scroll to the end of this post. If you have seen Spirited Away movie (= Henkien kätkemä), you'll probably recognize the Japanese dance in the video was also featured shortly in the movie when they treated  No-Face as a great visitor at the bath house. :D The style name seems to be "awaodori".

After the parade we went to eat sushi to a restaurant that had a 50% discount on selected sushis after 10pm. But also to get to eat with the offer you had to order sushi worth at least 80HKD/person which means 160HKD as it has the discount. No need to say perhaps that that was the biggest sushi dinner I have eaten if not counting the times we have cooked it ourselves. :)

Before the start.
Good places!

The main organizer was Cathay Pacific.

A chinese lion...

...and its friends.

Disneyland platform. Companies and theme parks had these kind of platforms.
A small dragon.

In front of every preformance group walked one person with this kind of sign.
Traditional Bolivian.... what?!
"Look at my horse, my horse is amazing..."

Kids also praticipated.

The Dragon!
