New Year fireworks

Chinese New Year Part IV

----------------------------

On Monday 11th February we went to see the New Year fireworks to Victoria Harbour. We got there approximately an hour before it started and the place was full of people. Even so, we got fairly good spots and even had some space around us as they opened some areas closer to harbour to people half an hour before and most people tried to get there. Also, it's good to be tall. :D

The fireworks lasted for 20 minutes or so and where quite spectacular compared to what I have seen before in Finland. :) Makes me wonder how much did the whole thing cost... And seems like Gangnam Style is a big hit here too. We had Korean people with us and they were like "omg, why gangnam style... stop dancing it!". :D The music in the video was being played in the harbour and I think I should have rather took video about the traditional Chinese one than Gangnam Style, but what is done is done. :P

Here's also some pictures in the case you can't watch the video for some reason.

So many people again...!

After the fireworks I don't want to even think about how would it feel like to take the MTR with so many people...

What we did after the fireworks is that we went to get dessert - frozen yoghurt. I got one with normal yoghurt and strawberry one and added some berries and fruits. This fairly healthy looking dessert was around 50HKD (cost based on weight). First time trying the frozen yoghurt and have to say that I'd rather take either normal yoghurt or ice cream. It wasn't bad, but in my opinion not that special and not worth that much.

After that some people went back home and me and Rhys (guy from Australia) went to Mong Kok to meet with Chen and some other people who had gone there to eat dinner. It was almost midnight when we got the idea to get some drinks from 7-11 and have our "new year party". First we sat for a while in a small park near Yau Ma Tei and then after a bit of walking found a small bar with karaoke. A fun night, especially singing 90s songs at karaoke. :D

Btw, there's a vodka named "King Robert" here. Game of Thrones anyone? :P But it's strange that you can buy alcohol like beer and vodka from 7Elevens around midnight... Can't do that in Finland.
