LHTH Annual High Table Dinner

[29.1.2013]

Harry Potter style dinner! It wasn't a HP theme party or anything but our hall's Annual High Table Dinner (HTD). :) Our hall has HTD's once a month, but the first one of the year is the annual HTD and it's a bit special.

What I heard about the HTD's before coming to HK was that they would be like "sitsit without alcohol and singing" and that's actually quite accurate explanation, thanks Joonas. :)

The Annual Hight Table Dinner was held in Loke Yew Hall in the Main Building of HKU at 29th January 2013. The idea for HTD's is to gather together and eat dinner with your hallmates (or usually with floormates as the seating is arranged by the floors) and listen to speeches. Apparently some halls have the speeches in Cantonese so at first I was a bit afraid that I would have to listen long speeches in a language I don't understand, but luckily our hall has everything in English!

So what makes it HP style you may ask? See the dresscode (traditional green gown of HKU) and the venue (Loke Yew Hall) in the pictures below. :)

I guess will again tell more than words can (or at least with less effort).
