Here it is... my last month in Finland before leaving to Hong Kong. Also so begins my attempt of writing a blog of my adventures in HK. I've never written a blog or anything similar before, so let's see what happens.
This blog will serve as my sort of wannabe-diary and also as a way for my friends and relatives to peek into my life in HK. I'll be writing the blog in English as you perhaps already have noticed.
If someone who doesn't know me reads this: Hi, I'm Kata, an electrical engineering student from Finland, who's soon going to spend (hopefully) a super awesome exchange spring in The University of Hong Kong (HKU for short).
Why Hong Kong? It's simple: I wanted to go to Asia and Hong Kong seemed like a good choice. Our university has a co-operation university there and I have also been in Hong Kong in 2011 for 9 days and I liked the city. HKU is also the best (or second best, depending on who's judging) university in Asia and all courses are taught in English.
My studies in HKU will begin on 21st January, the orientation will be on 18th January and I'll arrive in Hong Kong almost a week before the orientation. That should be early enough to have the time to buy some necessary things needed for living and get the last sign-ups etc. done with the university. I also have an exam on 11th January in Finland, so I couldn't even leave before that.
In HK I'll be living in the Lady Ho Tung Hall (LHTH) which is one of HKU's residential halls and it is about 10 minute walk away from the campus. I'll write more about the accomondation when I actually get there.
Departure is getting closer and closer... :)
